The 'body', which was kept in the freezer for seven hours, was taken out 'alive'. Case against doctors



Electrician Sreekesh Kumar was admitted to the Moradabad district hospital on Thursday night after he was hit by a bike. Doctors at the hospital pronounced the 40-year-old dead. The body was then transferred to the freezer in the mortuary.

The body was later recovered seven hours later. Relatives also gave written consent for postmortem. When the body was recovered in the presence of the police, Kumar's sister-in-law noticed the body moving. Video footage of the incident spread on social media. In the video you can hear him saying he is not dead but breathing.

'When the emergency medical officer checked in at three in the morning, he did not have a heartbeat. I had checked on him several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had a heart attack when police and relatives looked at him this morning. An investigation into the incident has been announced. Saving lives is a priority '- Mo Radabad Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Shiva Singh said. Kumar is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Meerut. Relatives said they had lodged a complaint against the doctors' negligence.
